My love for baking began at the age of seven, in the kitchen with my grandmother, Maureen Adkin. She was my greatest inspiration and the heart behind everything we create at Sugar Bliss. In the 1990s, she ran "The Old Firehall Coffee Roastery," a beloved café in downtown Nanaimo, British Columbia. Despite its eventual closing, my grandmother’s passion for her craft never faded, and her vision has always lived on in my heart.

Before her passing in September 2023, my grandmother encouraged me to pursue my dreams with love and dedication. In May 2024, Sugar Bliss was born—a tribute to her legacy, built on the recipes and techniques she perfected over a lifetime. Sugar Bliss has since become a part of countless special events, from weddings and birthdays to corporate gatherings.

Today, as a mother myself, I’m building a brand that will grow with my daughter, just as my grandmother’s legacy has grown with me. My grandmother’s recipes, from her sweet cakes to her melt-in-your-mouth cookies, are the heart of everything we do.
